Welcome to Automation April

Running a product-based business is meant to give you freedom.
But if you’re constantly glued to your screen, chasing stock updates, fixing order errors, or manually copying numbers into spreadsheets, then… newsflash: you’re working for your business, not on it.
And let’s be real — April isn’t exactly quiet.
There’s Easter, school holidays, ANZAC Day, and the constant juggle between life admin and trying to keep your business humming along. Not to mention EOFY creeping closer on the horizon.
So I’m declaring this month: Automation April.
Because it’s time to stop doing everything yourself — and start letting smart systems work for you.
⸻
What is Automation April?
Automation April is a full month dedicated to showing product-based business owners how to:
- Automate the repetitive stuff
- Regain control of your time
- Protect profit margins
- And actually take a break (without the wheels falling off)
Each week, I’ll be sharing content to help you spot opportunities for automation in your business — from order fulfilment to reporting to customer comms. If it can be done by a system, it shouldn’t be done by you.
⸻
Why automation matters more than ever
There’s a lot of noise online right now about “working harder”, “hustling for growth”, or being everywhere all the time.
But here’s the uncomfortable truth: manual effort doesn’t equal meaningful progress.
In fact, the businesses that scale sustainably are the ones that build smart systems from the ground up. Not just because it saves time (though it does), but because it allows you to focus on actual growth activities — not putting out fires.
Think about it:
- How many hours do you spend repeating the same tasks every week?
- What could you do with that time if it were freed up?
- How many errors, refunds or delays have been caused by manual processes?
(If your gut’s clenching — you’re not alone.)
⸻
Here’s what to expect this month
Each Monday, I’ll drop a new blog to guide you through:
- What to automate first
- How to build systems that work while you rest
- The real profit cost of doing things manually
- And how to wrap it all up with an automation action plan for EOFY prep
Tuesdays, you’ll get a straight-talking newsletter version in your inbox (no fluff, just facts and sass).
And on socials — you’ll see Reels, memes, carousels, and behind-the-scenes of what automation looks like in real businesses (including mine).
